This is a big month for LBD. We are holding the first of many Eat By Design seminars at the new Life By Design Strength and Conditioning Centre.
I wanted to give some props to the new SC. We are excited to launch and begin helping people discover that greatness that you were born with, and have been told that you don’t have. Reminder…. You have it; you need to re-discover it…. We help with that.
Today I wanted to write about the infamous egg yolk study; seeing that it is Eat By Design this month, I thought I would use it as my topic.
What I’m not going to write about is the terrible information that that study presented as scientific fact. Coach Ben, Mark Sisson, and I’m sure many others have done a much better job of doing that than I ever could dream to. Click on their names to read their thoughts. To read the study, click here.
The topic of today’s post is how important having and understanding (even more important then having) principles are to making rational decisions in your life. The reason is this: Since I have a clear understanding of certain principles, I can assess information (in this case the above study) and be confident that my decision based on the information provided will benefit me, not harm me.
A principle is a fundamental truth on which other truths depend.
Life By Design is a set of principles giving you knowledge on which to make decisions that will lead you to or away from health and life.
By Design foods in principle are those that:
The first law presupposes that health is a natural action for all humans, that “food” is a metaphysically given fact necessary for the survival of ALL humans and that physiologically our (human) requirements are the same.
1) Move one towards their genetically optimal state
2) Meet at least some of the macro or micro nutrient requirements of the body
3) Are good for everyone and good forever
4) Are fully adaptable by the human body
I will leave them all on the list; however I’m beginning to think that the first point (#1) is the only real principle, and the others ones can be deduced from it.
It’s important to note that the purpose of science is to prove your principles. If you are an honest scientist and your results contradict what you predict, it’s time to change your predictions. If your science proves your principles are correct, then you are discovering truth…. In today’s world we have been told science alone can provide us with principles…. Sorry, but that is untrue, and dangerous…. I’m thinking this digression should be a blog post of its own…
If you simply understood the above principles to fueling your body, you could see the fallacy of claiming that egg yolks are clogging your arteries. Using principles to live your life will make your life easier and will increase your certainty, not only in the world around but in the most important thing you have… your mind.

Be because smart as you can, but remember that it must be always easier to be smart than to be smart
